Of Money, Graphs, Water and Tinkering

Money

Over the last couple of weeks, we have explored how to count money, especially coins. While it has been  easy to count by ten (cents) there were some challenges when counting for example 50c, 20c and 10c. Making the transition from 50c to 70c in this case took a while. If you have a coin collection tin at home, consider letting your child "play" with the money as they develop facility in counting.

Graphs

We collected data within our class to use in constructing graphs. Next, we will be working on reading and interpreting them, then move on to generate questions from them.

Water

Interesting afternoons as we read about water, dramatise the water cycle and then experiment with its various aspects. We found out today, after freezing two cups of water - one fresh, one salty - that 24 hours later, the fresh water froze. The salty water did not. The question is WHY? Please feel free to have a discussion with your child, help them find an answer and maybe even allow them to try the experiment on their own.

TINKERTIME

We are on to the next step. We trust your family received a kit and instructions. We look forward to all the creations that will be made and brought to the Mayor of MACCCOT.

Tremendous Effort

Those similes in your writing made your work more entertaining to read.
Keep finding more and using them. Good job!!
